With delegates from 192 countries coming together in Copenhagen for the recent UN climate change summit, has anything actually changed? Not really, as ever the outcome has been ambiguous and non-committal.

However, responsibility for pollution does not rest solely with those countries that attended the summit, it is also up to individuals within each state to do their bit.

It is within our current capabilities to reduce pollution and with or without an agreement at Copenhagen, it is important that industry realises its responsibility to reduce its impact on the surrounding environment.

Companies that invest in energy saving equipment and do their bit will benefit from lower energy bills, reduced CO2 output as well as good publicity from acting in a responsible manner. So it really shouldn’t matter if an agreement was reached or not. The incentive is still there to reduce energy consumption.

What is your opinion on the recent UN climate change summit?
