Works Management magazine has recently conducted a survey in which it probed the energy habits of UK manufacturers.

While the results show the beginning of a change in attitudes towards energy efficiency, sadly many manufacturers are still not grasping the “easy option” when it comes to lowering bills.

Since 2004 electricity prices have risen a staggering 110 per cent and as such, businesses are now more than ever, trying to address energy spend through greater energy efficiency. While lowering electricity costs through the adoption of improved lighting control and boosting compressor efficiency (favoured methods of lowering energy costs according to the survey) is a great start, it pales into insignificance when compared to installing variable-speed drives and high efficiency motors.

Now I would say that, wouldn’t I. But thankfully so do thousands of happy customers.
